Done!

How gorgeous is this?! Heavenly! ^
My reward for finishing…hitting the open road. ^

I have had a lot of people contact me and ask how the test went… my most honest answer is that it was hard. But that is to be expected, right?! I will give you a play by play of my day…

  • Woke at 5am… I had 4 alarms set. (paranoid much?)
  • Got ready and grabbed coffee. (don't worry I had my lunch packed and my clothes laid out from the night before…2nd grade style.)
  • Went to Denny's for breakfast and some last minute review…and lots of coffee.
  • Arrived at the testing center at 7:30am.
  • Went through check in and processing (included 2 ID's, photos, and 19 million finger prints)
  • Started test at 8am.
  • Finished my first 200 questions and took my lunch break around 11am.
  • Checked a few answers I didn't know (got them wrong), chugged a Rockstar, ate a banana and went for a walk around the building.
  • Started the second half about 30 min later.
  • Finished the test around 2 pm.
And that was that. The questions aren't crazy or full of foreign information… I think that is actually what made it frustrating for me. There was a lot of info that was on the tip of my tongue, but I just couldn't quite remember. I have heard that no one walks out of that test feeling awesome, and that held true for me. But after a few days of relaxing and not having to think about it, I am feeling better about the whole thing. Vacation is wonderful and I am relaxin to the max. Good Luck to anyone else preparing… you got this.

The view from out condo.. Life is good. ^

Fast Forward

Oh man, another week bites the dust…and now another one begins! I swear every week closer to the end of the term gets a million times more crazy and intense.
On deck this week:
  1. Pediatrics final Monday morning
  2. Patient encounter Monday afternoon
  3. 16 hrs of Geriatrics lecture
  4. Natural tooth competency
  5. More endo and dentures
  6. 2 Lunch lectures/meetings
  7. Clinical service Learning for 4 hours
  8. A few random ECD IV lectures
  9. Study Boards
  10. Shower, eat, sleep, and have a social interaction (if time permits)
Dang. I honestly thought that writing it all out would make it seem more manageable, but it actually just makes me tired. At least the weather is freakin gorgeous! Happy Sunday!

Problems

I have 2 problems in my life right now.
  1. I drink far too much caffeine. Coffee and rockstars have become my main fuel source. This is sad for many reasons but mostly because both of these products are not good for your teeth and they have little nutritional value. I am a hazard to myself. (thank you, Pink for that brilliant song) I will fix this addiction…later.
  2. It is freaking beautiful outside. Not a problem, you think?! Oh but it is. This wonderful 90 degree weather calls my name constantly…as I sit in a library and dream of the beach... which is a bummer because I am not at the beach nor am I getting work done. Lose/lose situation. So instead I have decided to embrace the glorious climate and have opted for evening BBQ's rather then board reviews. This is somewhat better I guess, at least I win a little.
Hopefully these will work themselves out… or I will just be a caffeine junkie on the beach that failed out of dental school. It's one or the other.
